From my early teens I have always had an interest in photography. I studied initially for a year at Gloucester College of Art and Design and then successfully completed the prestigious three year course at Ealing School of Art and Photography.

I worked freelance for more than twenty-five years in the film and television industry as a focus puller. During this time I used my skills in stills photography both on set and during my 'resting periods' between contracts.

I have been exceptionally privileged to have worked in an occupation that was not only great fun, but also allowed me to meet a variety of individuals from the poorest farm worker in the African bush to British Royalty in both Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
My work ethic comes from what one of my tutors told me more years ago than I care to remember:-

"If you ever feel you have become a 'professional' photographer - Stop. Give up. Start another occupation."

He went on to explain that you must have the professionalism, competence and technical ability of a professional, but you should never lose the enthusiasm, attitude and ethos of a true amateur.
I still feel each project brings its own problems and challenges and each day there is always something new to learn.
