Architecture and Property
Whenever I have moved house, I have almost always been disappointed with the quality of photography that is produced on estate agents' publicity, and that is the very reason I have always supplied my own images when selling a property.
Surely, if agents want more people 'through the door' than their competitors, the images in the brochure or on the internet, both exterior and interior, are the very first point of contact that any potential buyer has with a property, and excellent photography will make that property stand apart.
In gallery 1, I have included images that I have taken exactly as the camera sees them without any alteration. I have then graded them to how I feel the eye would see the scene. The brain will automatically compensate to correct the colour of a scene, make walls vertical and see details in shadow areas. The integrity of the image remains intact.
Gallery 2 shows images that I have not taken, but have actually appeared on a website. Although I feel that I could very much improve on the quality of the photography, I did grade the images and I think it proves my point from gallery 1.
Gallery 3 shows images of a property taken by the agents as they initially appeared on a website. After six months with three viewings, I was asked to photograph the property and the results can be viewed alongside.
Gallery 4 shows architectural images, some of which were commissioned, but others taken locally and from around the world, and if I'm honest I couldn't think of any other category to put them in!!
